About Mark Bombace

Born and raised in Ridgewood, Mark Bombace has been a fire fighter for over 25 years. Today, he proudly serves as a Captain in the Ridgewood Fire Department – is Platoon B’s tour commander. Mark has been an officer for 15 years, serving 2 years in the administration as the department’s training and technology officer and as well as the Village’s Health and Safety Officer. Mark believes nothing is more important than the safety of his neighbors. He will bring his experience on the front lines of public safety - both as a Firefighter and an EMT - to Trenton to make sure that the families of the 40th District families are kept secure.

In addition to his public safety accomplishments, Mark Bombace also served on the Ridgewood Board of Education for 6 years – with 3 years as President of the Board. He presided over one of the State’s most respected school districts in all and worked diligently to create a more efficient, accountable public education system. Mark has long been a champion of reforming New Jersey’s schools. In the State Legislature, he’ll work to more efficiently spend our hard-earned tax dollars. Mark will fight to ensure we’re getting a return on our tax investment in our public school systems. His education reform will bring about reform by creating more accountability through the use of hard data. Mark’s plan will usher in real results and smarter use of our education dollars, while always keeping the best interest of the 40th District’s children at the forefront of the agenda. Mark’s experience on the Board of Education gave him direct experience with the pitfalls of Trenton-dictated mandates on local educational policy, and he will work to pass practical legislation giving local school districts control of important decisions.

A valued community leader, Mark Bombace is a Leadership New Jersey Fellow with a proven track record of serving his neighbors. In 1999, Mark was given the New Jersey Volunteer of the Year Award for creating the Recycling Old Computers for Kids (R.O.C.K). This program refurbished old and discarded computers so that they could be used by children whose families didn’t have the means to have a computer in their household. Additionally, Mark was the Ridgewood Emergency Medical Technician of the year in 1999 and has been credited with 3 CPR saves. Mark also has extensive training in fire safety and inspection. He is a New Jersey certified Fire Inspector and fire instructor, a member of the New Jersey State Fireman’s Mutual Benevolent Association Health & Safety Committee, and is President of the Ridgewood Fire Officer’s Association.

Today, Mark is running for the State Legislature to bring more creative ideas and common-sense solutions to the table. He will make sure the 40th District gets the resources and new policies needed to keep our families safe and prosperous.
