John Agostinelli has a long track-record of standing up for his neighbors and standing for reform. A lifelong resident of Passaic County and an active community leader in Little Falls, John is a dedicated public servant fighting to make a difference for the families of the 40th District.
A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, John Agostinelli will use his 20-plus years of experience as a civil engineer to bring a real world expertise to the State Assembly. Currently, John works for the Gordian Group – a consulting firm which implementas and manages Job Order Contracting Programs. His experience includes a massive base of knowledge in the way of procurement processes, facilities management, system design and program implementation. He’s traveled all across the country for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) restoring and assisting areas hit by natural disasters. During state-declared disasters, John was responsible for conducting Preliminary Damage Assessments and making recommendations concerning hazard mitigation for multiple state facilities. John will use his engineering experience as a problem-solver to bring a new perspective on infrastructure, mass transportation, and environmental issues in the State Legislature.
In Little Falls, John works tirelessly with community groups to make his hometown a better place to live, work and raise a family. He looked out for his neighbors’ health by helping to lead the fight against a developer seeking to build a 110-foot cell tower right on Main Street. John also spearheaded the effort to reform the Little Falls form of government by putting more power in the hands of the taxpayers. Rather than allowing the politically-connected to continue making their deals behind closed doors, John made it so voters could directly elect their Mayor. Additionally, John fought to keep the Great Notch Train Station open – to ensure commuters have access to mass transportation, make life more affordable and cut down on pollution. John also has a strong working relationship with both Congressman Bill Pascrell and has worked with him to secure funding for local projects and procure money for open space preservation.
John will fight to bring common sense leadership to Trenton and enact legislation that improves the lives of all 40th District residents and families. An independent thinker, he pledges to hold monthly town hall meetings throughout the district to best find solutions to the problems we all face.
